The joint exhibition titled ‘You and Me in HU3’ opened at the Humber Street Gallery in Hull, February 9, 2024 that celebrated my 40 years of friendship with George Norris. I photographed George in 1983 when he was a 19-year-old rag and bone man following in his father’s footsteps. George is now a celebrated documentary photographer still working in Hull documenting his community. The joint exhibition highlighted environmental portraits by George and explores the picture stories that I shot in Hull in the early 1980’s and then reimagined in 2022. There were seven picture stories, Rag Bone, Changing Times, Kandy de Barry and Star & Garter by myself and Gypsy Childhood, Love Letter to Hull and Peacocks by George exhibited over two floors. In addition, there were three short documentary films of some of the stories. The full series can be seen in the stories completed page of my website or by clicking here. |
