After spending over two years walking the length of Lea Bridge Road taking pictures and listening to people I’ve met I have decided that I need to move deeper into the documentary. Easier said than done. I want to spend more time in specific places so have decided to focus on places of work and faith, both of which are central to the community. Getting access is never easy as it’s a matter of trust. Time and patience always work and now things are opening up; I’m documenting K&H Timber Supplies, that is now celebrating 45 years of business. In addition, I’ve been given permission to take pictures inside the Jamia Masjid Ghousia Mosque. The worshippers at Potters House are also getting used to me hanging about taking pictures after Sunday service. The following pictures are a random selection of images that I like, both colour and black and white, as I slowly get deeper onto the story and sort out my thinking as to where this is going.
